Complete 120 Hours of Pre-Licensing Education

Take 4 NRED-approved courses: Principles (45 hrs), Law (45 hrs), Contracts (15 hrs), Agency (15 hrs).

Register on NRED Website and Pay Exam Fee

Register at red.prod.secure.nv.gov. Pay $100 exam fee. Receive Authorization to Test email from Pearson VUE (2–3 business days).

Schedule and Pass the Pearson VUE Exam

Schedule after receiving authorization. Pass both National (60/80 = 75%) and State (30/40 = 75%) sections.

Complete Fingerprinting and Background Check

Complete background waiver form first. Get fingerprinted at approved vendor (~$65) or mail in ($40.25). Processing: 6–8 weeks.

First Renewal Notes

Must complete 30-hour post-licensing course (live classroom only) within first year. Out-of-state licensees who held a license at time of NV application may be exempt from post-licensing; they complete 36 hrs standard CE instead. Reduced CE (12 hrs) available for licensees age 65+ with 30+ years licensed.

Deadlines

First renewal: 1 year from issuance. Subsequent: every 2 years from renewal date.

Nevada requires significant live instruction (18 of 36 hrs). Post-licensing is classroom-only — cannot be completed online.
